3 Pistes Challenge - Lect - Glensee - Glencoe
450 Miles
This is a long route that combines many of the best parts of the previous routes. If you love to be on the bike on all day and enjoy the road as much as the views this is a great route to tick off.
As you can imagine there are a great mixture of roads on this route and a lot of elevations changes.
Highlights of this trip would be the long fast sweeping bends around Dornie (Eilean Donan Castle), this part of the route has great visibility and great road surface most of the time.
Stopping if you can to take in the view of Loch Garry, the Loch that looks like a map of Scotland.
The traffic builds once south of Spean Bridge and heading to Fort William, but that means you are not far from Glencoe :-). Who does not like Glencoe?
The Green Welly is a popular stop off for bikers and tourists heading to and from Glencoe. You can see the sun was out so was really busy when you stopped off.
Pitlochry is a good place to stop for food as lots of choice, we would recommend Escape Route cafe.
Pitlochry to Glensee ticks so many boxes, tight twisty bends, great visibility, great road condition (might have changed) very much good fun.
Then your off up to Braemar and then over the Lect to Inverness which then feels like the homeward leg.
It passes by
For a truly comprehensive tour of what Northern Scotland has to offer.
We have given the route this name due to both the length and the large number of country roads along the way.
Make sure your bike seat is as comfortable as it can be! You may choose to break this into a number of smaller trips.
