Of course the GS line dates back to the early 80s when the Dakar was in its infancy and bikes tended  to have a multi purpose nature about them. In fact the phrase “GS” means Gelände/Straße which translated from German is Off Road/ Road.

This dual purpose nature still holds true today and although the current iterations of the BMW R1200GS have gained a bit of weight and luxuries such as anti lock brakes, cruise control heated grips they are still very capable off road in the right hands. M8 Top Clamp Bolt Mount

This is essentially a more permanent upgrade to using the Helix Swivel Strap. It replaces one of the 4 handlebar clamp mounting bolts with a special longer bolt that has a 25mm ball attachment at the top. By using this it keeps the GS 1200 phone case very low and allows for positioning in either portrait or landscape as well as tilting for the best viewing angle.

The extremely versatile mirror attachment is perfect for Riders who prefer to use the tank space for a tank bag. It allows the smartphone to be mounted up out of the way of the motion of the handlebars and places the smartphone at the perfect eye level for riding. To fit it requires the removal and reinstallation of the left hand mirror.
